Barry Shanley Jr. was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and later moved to Kalamazoo. He attended Lawton schools through his senior year, and spent his first year of college at Columbia College Chicago film school with a major in screenwriting and a minor in acting. After realizing the school was not for him, he returned to Kalamazoo with a major in Creative Writing, which he is currently finishing. Barry is always reading and studying screenplays to improve his own skills as a writer, and is always working on at least one screenplay, as well as developing ideas for others. He intends to head out to California with his best work as soon as he finishes school, to take Hollywood by storm.
