W. Donta Andrews
"I write because I have no other option and my genre of choice is life...real, honest, in-your-face, life experience. It affects me like nothing else and, like writing, it can't be ignored."
W. Donta Andrews was born and raised in Kalamazoo Michigan. As the arts have always dominated his focus, he excelled in literature classes, art courses (centered on paint, pastel, and charcoal) and studied jazz, ballet, and modern dance in high school. However, writing has always taken precedent over any other talent or outlet. He was a Business Management major at Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, deciding against studying creative writing based on his personal belief that learned technique can interfere with the rawness of a writer's work. In April 2007 he premiered his first short film, You Forgot Me, which he wrote, directed, and acted in. Though a film was the first of his works to come to full fruition, novels are where his aspirations lie and they will definitely be the bulk of his work. At 26, Donta is currently working on his first novel.
